It all started 12 years ago, when Jan-Carlo and Sofia Handtke took on the challenge of reviving their family's old land. This small replanting project evolved into what is now Mapache Coffee, an operation that includes 6 farms (El Naranjito, Cartagua, Santa Erlinda, El Recreo, 21 de Mayo and Casa de Zinc).
Casa de Zinc coffee was designed with pacamara beans, which are mainly grown in El Salvador, where they frequently dominate the Cup of Excellence competitions for the quality of its cups. Such is the case with Casa de Zinc's honey processed pacamara. A cup of this lightly roasted beverage offers a fruity moment (raspberry, currant, lychee and pineapple) with a silky and very pleasant texture that any coffee lover can well appreciate.
