Description

Ngila Coffee Estate is a 100 hectare farm located 1,600 meters above sea level with 150,000 coffee trees that produce 120 tonnes of premium Arabica coffee each year. Their main varieties of coffee are Bourbon and Typica. The farm is located on the slopes of Ngorongoro Crater in Karatu District. It is nourished in this mineral rich volcanic soil and watered by the Endoro stream that the Ngila coffee grows at its best.

The freshly picked cherries are brought directly to the pulping and washing station where they are immediately pulped and fermented for 36 hours. After fermentation, the grains are washed and dried in the shade to prevent a thermal shock. They will stay there for up to 10 days until they are dry enough to be sent to the conditioning bins.

The Kent variety from Ngila Coffee Estate has a very complex acidity, in a cup of this coffee you will find a fruity blend of citrus, cranberry, and dried berry with a hint of chocolate, honey and brown sugar. This cafe is everything, but subtle.
